Traveling freak show
Chris and Maria have a connection with a small retreat place in Comfort, Texas called His Hill. It was established as part of Ian Thomas' ministry: Torchbearers.
Chris has taught there a couple of times, sharing Christ with students who have graduated from high school and have chosen to attend this ministry school before going off to college or a job or the vocational ministry.
Every Thanksgiving, His Hill has a conference full of teaching, fellowship, and, of course, feasting. Chris and Maria went last year and really enjoyed it. This year, they were crazy enough to invite Richard and Cathy and Amanda and me along.
It was marvelous.
There is something about traveling together as families that makes you realize you are, truly, one Family. We ate together, laughed together, prayed together, received teaching together, and, as seen above, even road horses together.
The schedule basically went like this: eat, teaching, snack, teaching, eat, break, eat, teaching, snack.
Not bad.
The students who live there were kind enough to watch all the kids for the adults during the sessions. And the kids had a blast.
While not all the teaching was the greatest, there was some that was really Christ. It was so encouraging to learn from other people who know Christ in a deep, intimate way...and who have the heart to teach others Him.
I was a little surprised that, with all the people there, we were the only ones who came together as families. Now, my hope is that this traveling freak show expands: we are looking into the possibility of doing an entire church retreat at His Hill for all the men, women, and children in our local church.

So, I left a comment a few days ago and it's not here now. Am I being censored?!? ;)
My comment was something along the lines of being all for a church retreat at His Hill and for more traveling together as Family.
Hmmm...not sure what happened. But you are my most faithful commenter, so no need to worry about me censoring you. In fact, you deserve a written apology:

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I expect no further issues of this kind. After much consideration, I have decided I will continue to patronize this establishment.
Freaks!
Well said.
