Speaking in chapel

Living with Freaks

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak in Baylor's chapel. Baylor has approximately 3,200 students participating in chapel this semester, spread out over three different sessions.

I was honored they asked me to speak, and I decided to share my testimony. My hope was not to share a "neat story," but rather to show that my story is actually not that unique. We all must walk a similar path, in some way or another.

I was so touched by the support of my fellow freaks in this process. It was a big deal for me. Michael prayed for me, as did others. Jackson took time during his workday to hear my speech and give me fantastic advice on how to be more of myself and let the Lord really come through. Amy, Natalie, and others emailed me before and after. Chris and Patrick took time during their work days to actually come hear me speak.

And my lovely wife, Amanda, took the day off and sat through my talk three times! She literally spent almost 4 hours in Waco Hall so that she could hear me give the same talk over and over.

It meant so much to know that I wasn't going it alone. And below is the result...
